TWO GUNRUNNING SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN QUEZON CITY

National Capital Region Police Office Chief, PMGEN Vicente D Danao Jr., commends the joint elements of Police Station 4 (PS 4), Criminal Investigation Section (CIS), Crime Research and Analysis Section (CRAS) – District Investigation and Detective Management Division (DIDMD) of the Quezon City Police District for the successful arrest of the suspects for violation of RA 10591 (Gunrunning) at about 5:15PM on February 18, 2021 at Marian Subdivision, Brgy Sauyo, Novaliches Quezon City.

Suspects were identified as Rosales Samson Jr. y Dela Cruz, male, married, welder and Tomas Bernardino y Mendoza, male, widow and caretaker. Both are residents of Barangay Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Investigation disclosed that upon validation of the report provided by a confidential informant regarding the activities of the suspects, joint elements plotted a buy bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

Seized during the operation were:

a.            One (1) Unit Bushmaster caliber 5.56 mm assault rifle with Serial Number ElO 1091966 with attached tactical flashlight;

b.            One (1) Cobray Ingram MII Cal. 9mm submachine gun with serial number 864791;

c.             Fifty Eight (58) pcs. of live ammunitions for Caliber 5.56mm;

d.            Two (2) magazines for UZI Sub Machine gun;

e.            One (1) white box containing fifty (50) pcs of live ammunitions of Caliber 9mm;

f.             Five (5) magazines for Caliber 5.56mm; 

g.            One (1) silencer for UZI Sub Machine Gun;

h.            Three (3) Pcs. of one Thousand Peso Bills (Recovered)

i.              One (1) black gun bag for Caliber 5.56. marked Bushmaster; and

j.             One (1) black plastic gun case marked Dewalt. 

Meanwhile, suspects are under custody and were brought to the CIS together with the confiscated pieces of evidence for investigation and proper disposition.

“The apprehension of these gunrunners and recovery of firearms and ammunitions will lead our investigators to trace their source as well as to find out if there are law enforcers involved in this illegal activity. And if ever there are law enforcers involved, they will be dealt with accordingly. Hindi namin binibigyan puwang ang mga iligal na gawain ng ating mga kasama sa serbisyo, sisiguruhin namin na pananagutan nila ang kanilang pagyurak sa kanilang mga tsapa,” said PMGEN DANAO.###
