PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR presented before the media the two (2) members of terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) during the press briefing on July 13, 2021/11:00 AM conducted at SPD Command Center in Fort Bonifacio , Taguig City.
District Director, PBGEN JIMILI LOPEZ MACARAEG in his report submitted to the Regional Director, suspects were arrested by joint police operatives in Sitio Imelda, Upper Bicutan, Taguig City on July 10, 2021.
Suspects were identified as: TAUPIK GAFFAR GALBUN ALIAS: PA WAHID, 40 years old, married, construction worker and a resident of Block 124, Lot 9, Phase 8, Sitio Imelda, Upper Bicutan, Taguig City; and
SAIK GALBUN GAFFAR ALIAS: PA TANDA, 42 years old, married, construction worker.
Probe reveals that operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD), National Capital Region Police Office Regional Intelligence Division (NCRPO-RID) and Taguig City Police successfully served the warrant of arrest against the Taupik and Saik at around 10:50 p.m of the said date.
@ Pa Wahid has a standing arrest warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention, with criminal Case Number 128923-H A to E issued by HON. JUDGE TORIBIO E ILAO JR. of RTC Branch 266 in Pasig City signed as Taguig City on 05 November 2009.
He was also allegedly involved in the abduction of three (3) teachers of Landang Gua Elementary School, Sacol Island, Zamboanga City during their return trip from work onboard a boat with seven (7) other teachers on January 23, 2009 along the municipal waters of Zamboanga.
Meanwhile, @ PA TANDA has a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with Ransom docketed under CC No. 815-3 issued at Pasig City Regional Trial Court.
@Pa Wahid nad @Pa Tanda were alleged members of the group of late Basilan-based ASG leaders Isnilon Hapilon and Bakal Hapilon who led various kidnappings in the region.
RD DANAO during the press briefing said that Taupik was involved in beheading Primitivo Falcansantos, Crisanto Suela and Guillermo Sobero who were kidnapped by the group of Hapilon in Sulu and Basilan.
PMGEN DANAO when asked whether the NCRPO is receiving threats from terrorists, he answered: “We cannot be complacent. Hindi man tayo nakakareceive ng kahit anong serious threat but we cannot be complacent especially that the SONA is coming.”
“We are not only dealing with anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug campaign but also with anti-terrorism. We cannot be complacent that’s why aalamin natin kung bakit sila nandito at anong pakay nila.” he said.###
