National Capital Region Police Office

A few days before we welcome the year 2021, officers from the Regional Headquarters, NCRPO down to its smallest Police Station conducted round-the-clock inspection in different posts in the Metropolis  particularly inside the mall, markets, churches, bus/PUV terminals, LRT/MRT, parks and other places of convergence as part of “Ligtas Paskuhan 2020”.

The inspection aims to check the operational capability and preparedness of police officers manning the area. This is to ensure that they are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities in maintaining peace and order; never letting their guards down while the community welcomes the upcoming New Year.

Amidst the current plight of the country against the current health crisis, stricter implementation of the minimum health protocol to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus is among the top concerns prioritized by NCRPO. This is on top of its mandate to maintain peace and order, protect lives and propeties and ensure public safety against threats from terrorists and criminal groups or individuals.

Towards this end, the current Metro Cop Acting Chief, PBGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR motivated his men to remain vigilant and observant to forestall any untoward situation that may occur. Further,  he reminded them not to slack off to be able to immediately respond to public needs accordingly.  He also warned them about the use of illegal fire crackers and indiscriminate firing  that may harm them and other people or worst, result in the loss of lives.

The cooperation of the general public therefore is  imperative to avoid being victimized by persons who would take advantage of the new year celebration.

“Due to the current health crisis, I would like to remind everyone of the existing ban in the use of all forms of firecrackers and pyrotechnics except in designated community areas as approved by concerned LGUs. This policy aims to eradicate future firecracker-related injuries thereby upholding public safety which we must all aim for as we celebrate and welcome year 2021 with hope and positivity.

Finally, PBGEN DANAO JR encouraged the public  not  to hesitate to report any illegal activity or suspicious individual to the nearest police station or get in touch thru Isumbong kay RD SMS hotlines O915- 888-9181 for GLOBE and 0999-901-8181 for SMART subscribers.###
