RD DANAO: Ensured Readiness of Security Coverage during COC and CONA Filing

In line with the forthcoming 2022 National and Local Elections, the National Capital Region Police Chief PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR spearheaded the conduct of inspection of command post and venue for filing of of Certificate of Candidacy (COCs) and Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONAS) in different areas of Metro Manila.

Among the areas he visited were event places located at ETON Centris, Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City, Sanciangco St in front of Multi-purpose Hall, Brgy Catmon, Malabon City, M. Naval St. in front of COMELEC, Navotas City Brgy Sipac-Almacen, Navotas City, Caloocan North City Hall, Zapote Road, Brgy. 177, Coloocan City, and CJ Santos, COMELEC office, Malinta, Valenzuela City.

Simulation exercises (SIMEX) on different anticipated incidents that might transpire before during the actual date of filing of the COC and CONA were also simulated by Team NCRPO along with the commanders on the ground in order to embed a muscle memory upon the responding officer on the actions to be undertaken in case such incidents happen.

These events include possible shooting incidents, bomb related threats, earthquake, mob, and other forseeable untoward incidents.

Sa ngayon, matapos ang ating masusing pagsasanay, inaasahan po natin na tayo ay mas naging handa sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at katahimikan sa nalalapit na araw ng pagsusumite ng COC/CONA at sa halalan 2022. Simulation exercises are conducted to effectively evaluate an organization’s ability to execute one or more portions of it’s response to emergencies. It is a highly effective way of transferring key skills to responding officers in a cost-effective manner.

This simulation exercise was conducted to ensure public safety and security as the official day of filing COCs and CONA start on October 1, 2021.

A total of 2,520 personnel; 1,891 from the PNP 629 form allied agencies will be deployed during the Filing of Certificates of Candidacy and CONA .###
