QCPD’S BUY-BUST OPERATION SEIZES MORE THAN 11 KILOS OF MARIJUANA FROM AN HVT

National Capital Region Police Office, Regional Director, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the success of the buy bust operation of the personnel of District Drug Enforcement Unit of Quezon City Police District resulting in the arrest of one male suspect at about 6:50 PM of October 20, 2020 at House no. 181, Fernandez St., Brgy. San Antonio Delmonte, Quezon City.

The operation stemmed from an in-depth intelligence information gathering, surveillance, monitoring and investigation of the modus operandi of the suspect.

The suspect was identified as Jomari Basilio y Manuel male, 24 y/o (March 4, 1996), single, promodizer, and resident of No. 181, Fernandez St., Brgy. San Antonio Delmonte, Quezon City. Watch listed and categorized as HVT.

Investigation disclosed that operatives of DDEU, QCPD in coordination with PDEA- RO NCR conducted anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation wherein a police officer acted as a poseur buyer. Upon transaction, operatives effected his arrest.

Recovered evidence from the suspect were ten (10) pieces tape sealed dried fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana ; (1) unit cellular phone; one (1) digital weighing scale; one (1) carton box ; one (1) white envelope; one (1) piece genuine five hundred (500) peso bill incorporated with one (1) bundle fake one (1) thousand peso bills.

More or less 11.3 kilos of suspected Marijuana with an estimated DDB value of Php 1,356,000.00 was confiscated during the operation.

Moreover, during the arrest, suspect was informed of his Constitutional Rights in a language he understood. The physical inventory of the recovered pieces of evidence is in compliance with Section 21 of Art II RA 9165 and conducted in the presence of Brgy Elected Official Brgy. Kagawad Jason Mirasol of Brgy. San Antonio, Quezon City and Mr. Alex Mendoza a media representative from HATAW News Tabloid and member of QCPD PRESS Corps.

Meanwhile, the suspect and the recovered pieces of evidence will be brought to QCPD Crime Laboratory Office for examination. Charges for Violation of Sections 5 (Selling of dangerous drugs) and 11 (Possession of dangerous drugs) under Article II, R.A. 9165 the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed for inquest proceedings.

“This accomplishment is another manifestation of Team NCRPO’s effective strategy to combat illegal drugs in the Metro. Through the overwhelming diligence of our operatives, all forms of illegal drugs will be confiscated and suspects will face the consequences of their illegal activities,” PMGEN SINAS emphasized.
