In line with the continuous program of NCRPO to extend assistance and support to the most vulnerable members of the society that was severely affected by the current health crisis, Regional Director, PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR. together with RMFB, RDMU, NCRTC, QCPD, RPCADU, RCADD, JTF NCR and NCRPO RCSP Team (Quezon City) spearheaded the Livelihood Skills Training under Project S. I. B. O. L (Simula ng Isang Bagong Oportunidad sa Lipunan) in partnership with the Lady Eagles Club headed by Ms Malou Lee, President and TESDA, Antipolo on July 17, 2021 at Brgy. UP Campus, Quezon City.
Project S. I. B. O. L is in line and in support to the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster Program under EO #70 series 2018. It aims to help, promote and increase productivity of the citizenry who have less by providing income generating skills.
The beneficiaries of the said training are the residents of Brgy. UP Campus wherein they were taught different skills such as dishwashing soap production, alcohol soap, detergent powder, fabric conditioner, liniment oil and rug making.
Consequently, during the activity, NCRPO Serbisyong TAMA Caravan sa Barangay distributed food packs and health kits. They also distributed food packs to the 25 families that is under lockdown in Sikatuna Bliss Phase 2, Brgy. UP Campus. Likewise, wheelchairs were given to two (2) PWD’s and food packs and health kits to the senior citizens and single parents who attended the activity under Project S.I.B.O.L.
Relatedly, aside from the mobile Kusina, Tele- Eskwela, Bayanihan (KTB) to cater the children in the area through feeding, teaching ang storytelling, among others. And to compliment the activities, a mobile clinic from RDMU under the leadership of PCOL NENITA DE LEON was deployed to assess and check on the health status of the residents.
Another highlight of the activity also includes the Oath Taking and Signing of Manifesto of the Advocacy Groups in which they pledged to cooperate and coordinate with the authorities in achieving peaceful and orderly society.
On his message, PMGEN DANAO said “kinakailangan po na ang ating mga NGOs at barangay’s will be our partners especially po sa crime prevention. Lagi po ninyong tandaan na ang crime prevention ay hindi lang trabaho ng pulis, trabaho po nating lahat ito. Hindi po naming kakayanin na kami lang ang magresolba nito, we need your participation.”
He added “kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat dahil pinaunlakan ng Brgy. UP Campus itong aming programa upang maibahagi ang mga kaalaman na ito. Sa panahon ngayon, sa panahon ng pandemya huwag po nating iasa lang sa gobyerno hindi po natin kakayanin. Magtulungan po tayo. Mas maganda po siguro na makita ng lahat na tayo ay sama-sama.”###
