PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office commends the relentless anti-illegal drug operations of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Paranaque City Police Station, Southern Police District for the success of two buy bust operations that led to the seizure of almost PHP1.5 million worth of Shabu on October 16, 2020.
The operation stemmed from a report provided by a confidential informant regarding the alleged illegal drug activities of a certain Rowena Layton Cabellan a suspected drug dealer in Paranaque and nearby cities.
After a week-long intelligence driven operation and validation of the report, the buy-bust operation was hatched. At around 10:00PM at Fourth Estate Area 7B Barangay, San Antonio Paranaque City, an undercover cop posed as buyer and was able to buy from the suspect one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu worth PHP 500.00. And at the given pre-arranged signal, the suspect was arrested.
The arrested suspect was identified as Rowena Layton Cabellan,31 years old, female, single, jobless and presently residing at Fourth Estate Area 7B, Brgy. San Antonio, Paranaque City. Seized from the suspect’s possession were four (4) pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 151grms with DDB Value Php1,026,800.00.
Correspondingly, at around 11:30 PM of the same date, the same operating unit conducted buy-bust operation along Agripina St., Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City resulting in the arrest of the suspect identified as Jolly Acosta y Cruz, 36 years old, male single.
Seized from the suspect’s possession was suspected shabu with an aggregate weight of more or less 55 grams with DDB value of PHP374,000.00 and one black pouch.
Both suspects are currently detained at Paranaque Station Custodial Facility pending the filing of case for violation of RA 9165 while the confiscated items believed to be shabu with an aggregate weight of more or less 206 grams with DDB value of PHP1,400,800.00 was turned over to the Southern Police District Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
