As part of its continuing drive to help the communities in the region, the National Capital Region Police Office initiated a Clean-up Drive Activity and Distribution of Food packs in a small Sitio in Barangay Santo Rosario, Silangan, Municipality of Pateros on April 8, 2021.

The area is composed of the Ybanag community who are among the identified vulnerables greatly affected by the crisis brought by the pandemic.

Regional Director of the NCRPO, PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR believes that a clean and healthy environment must be promoted and be given high priority especially during current health crisis.

Having said this, joint personnel of the Regional Community Affairs Development Division, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Pateros Police Station along with the Pateros Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo Officer, Hon Jessa Joy Abejar ; Hon. Joan Matthew Palma SK Chairman and Hon Efren Reyes,  Barangay Ex-O,  initiated a clean-up drive at Flores St.  Barangay Santo Rosario, Silangan, Pateros which aims to provide healthy environment promoting a safe, sound and robust well-being among community members.

Consequently, the Team NCRPO provided materials needed for the sitio’s water well to be cemented, restored and repaired.

The Sitio Leader, Tatay Celso Canceran, thanked PMGEN DANAO and the policemen of NCRPO for selecting their Sitio in their pilot project SIBOL (Simula ng Isang Bagong Oportunidad sa Lipunan), na ang kahirapan ay hindi handlang, dahil may oportunidad na nakalaan para sa lahat ng mamamayan, na gaya ng ginagawa ng ating kapulisan.   He further, assured the Team NCRPO that they will maintain the cleanliness in their area which the policemen have started to polish. Likewise, to take good care of the water well that they have cemented, restored and repaired. Same is through with Brgy Ex-O Efren Reyes, he extends his gratitude to GEN DANAO for continuously looking into the welfare of the people. Indeed, according to him, GEN   DANAO is an officer worthy of emulation.

Thereafter, the team reached out to the jeepney drivers seen along the highway of San Joaquin, Pasig City with the Pasig  SCADS  led by PLT EBRALIN JAIN, Hon. Patrick  Abale, KKDAT President, Pasig  and Hon Bersamin Cayon, Brgy Chairman, Brgy San Joaquin, Pasig City through the distribution of food packs and health kits. According to them, begging has been the only way left for them to sustain the needs of their families amidst Covid 19 pandemic.

PMGEN DANAO commends the effort of RCADD, RMFB, Pateros, KKDAT Officer,  Pateros and Pasig  along with their Brgy and  SK Chairmens, and Brgy Ex-O  in conducting activities such as distribution of food packs for those who are in dire need. Similarly, the clean-up drive is an assurance that the community is safe from further spread of diseases and other hazards brought by an unclean surroundings.

“Napakahalaga nito lalo sa panahong humaharap tayo sa pandemya dulot ng virus na hindi natin nakikita. Malaking tulong ang pagpapanatili ng kalinisan upang maiwasan natin ang higit na pagkalat ng nasabing sakit,” he said.###
