NCRPO’s DIALOGUE WITH MUSLIM RELIGIOUS CIVIL SOCIETY AT THE MANILA GOLDEN MOSQUE

As part of strengthening the unity and harmonious relationship with the Muslim Community, PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR spearheaded the
Dialogue with the Muslim Religious Civil Society on May 22, 2021 at the Manila Golden Mosque, Quiapo, Manila.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Bureau of Peace and Conflict Resolution led by Commissioner Yusoph J Mando organized the said dialogue in order to discuss about matters of mutual concern.

Participants were warmly welcomed by Director, Cosanie M Derogongan of Bureau of Peace and Conflict Resolution. Consequently, an overview of International Quran Research Academy Foundation Inc on peace building programs was presented by Molvi Abdel Fatteh Tanog.

The dialogue was also attended by Col Ibrahim Mustafa, Abdul Majid Ali, Mayor Molundo Saidamen, President Rasad A Barodi, Khalil Punduma and Sultan Omar Paubaya. Meanwhile, PCOL MADZGANI M MUKARAM from PNP Salaam Center, DD, MPD, PBGEN LEO MANAOG FRANCISCO and other distinguished officers from NCRPO also joined the activity.

Thereafter, the dialogue was highlighted with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between NCRPO, NCMF and IQRA. It was a commitment that programs and understandings of parties shall focused on the conduct of peace building through police community partnership that includes the simultaneous organizations of all Muslim communities and subsequent conduct of seminars and trainings regarding peace building. Similarly, they shall be partners supporting each other in the fulfillment of the programs while coordination among LGU’s and other NGO’s shall also be made in order for this endeavors to prosper.

NCMF-BFP Commissioner, Yusoph Mando during his speech acknowledged the role of police officers in the fight against covid 19 alongside the fight against criminality, illegal drugs, terrorism, insurgency and violence. He also encouraged the Muslim religious sectors to cooperate and be part of the solution amidst the current health crisis. “Sa gitna ng pandemyang ito, sa gitna ng matinding pagsubok ng ating bansa,dapat tayo ay magsilbing ng solusyon at iwasang maging bahagi ng problema ng ating bayan,” he said.

PMGEN DANAO in his message expressed his gratitude being part of the dialogue. He further gave an assurance that NCRPO will continuously reach out to Muslim communities. “Hindi po ito panahon ng pagbabangayan, hindi rin po ito panahon ng alitan, bagkus ito ay panahon ng pagtutulungan,” he said.

Alam ko po na katuwang namin kayo para maging instrumento ng pagkakaisa para sa ating buong sambayanan Pilipino. Asahan po ninyo na sa pamumuno ng inyong lingkod ay amin pong pananatilihin ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong TAMA: tapat, may tapang at MAlasakit, lalong lalo na sa mga kapatid nating Muslim,” he added.###
