NCRPO’s 3-1 Activity: Blessing and Inauguration of S.I.B.OL. Malasakit Training Center, Turn- Over of Livelihood Packages and Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery in Malabon City.

National Capital Region Police Office Chief, PMGEN Vicente D Danao Jr., spearheaded the Blessing and Inauguration of the Simula ng Isang Bagong Oportunidad sa Lipunan (SIBOL) Malasakit Training Center in Sitio 6, Dumpsite, Barangay Catmon, Malabon City on October 27, 2021.

Together with RD Danao were; PBGEN Benjamin C Acorda, DRDA, PBGEN Jon A Arnaldo, DRDO; PBGEN Jose Hidalgo Jr., District Diretor, Northern Police District (NPD), other Regional Staff and NPD Directorial Staff with Sec. Eduardo M Ano, Secretary Interior and Local Government, represebted by Hon. Martin B Dino, USEC for Barangay Affairs, DILG as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Also present during the activity were: BGEN Marceliano V Teofilo, Commander JTF-NCR; Hon. Antolin Oreta III, City Mayor of Malabon, DIR Vicente Gregorio B Tomas, RD DSWD-NCR; Hon. Brian L Manapat, Brgy Chairman, Brgy Catmon; Malabon City Director-DILG Mrs Girlie Zarah and Ms Malou Lee.

In his message, Hon Martin B Dino, appreciated the programs initiated by RD Danao for the residents of Brgy Catmon Malabon City wherein a Malasakit Training Center was built that will serve as what he called a “Kabuhayan Center” for all the residents in the area. “Maganda at makabuluhan ang proyektong ito para sa pagyakap sa ating mga kababayan. Hindi lang Multi-purpose Center ito, pwede rin itong training center from NGO’s and Business Sector para matuto ng pangkabuhayan para sa kinabukasan ng mga nakatira sa lugar na ito.”

RD Danao also stated that Catmon Brgy is one of the 19 identified oppressed and depressed barangays within the NCR. “ When we were able to identify these areas, in our own little way, we took the initiative to address the problem. We tried to alleviate the poverty within the area. Kahit sa konting halaga o sa konting panahon ay ito ang kaya nating gawin.”

Further, Hon. Antolin Oreta III, City Mayor of Malabon, expressed his gratitude to all those who assisted the residents of Catmon Brgy, he also thank the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte for his support to the said programs. “Ito po ay patunay na pag-aasikaso ng ating pangulo at sana ay huwag nating sayangin ang oportunidad na ito, dahil malaking tulong ito sa komunidad. Magkaisa tayo, tulong-tulong at sama-sama, anumang pagsubok malalampasan natin basta tayo ay nagkakaisa, kaya natin!”

Likewise, Ms Madeliane Cajipo, Adviser, JUPCMO/BOD, SIBOL Consumers Cooperative Inc. emotionally expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all those who made the project possible. “Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumulong sa amin, hindi ko po inaasahan na mangyayari ito sa buhay namin.”

The activity also highlighted the Turn over of livelihood packages and the conduct Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan towards National Recovery. The venture was participated by the Local Government Unit (LGU), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) wherein they showcased their training capability.

Likewise, personnel from the Department of Labor and Employment and Public Employment Service Office screened applicants and offered job vacancies to the unemployed participants while personnel from the Department of Social Welfare Development distributed four hundred (400) food packs to the indigent members of former KADAMAY.

Additional services extended during the activity are 200 food packs from Mr Kim Magno (DSWD) Dir. Vicente Gregorio Thomas, RD,DSWD and additional 100 from the Local DSWD. Government agencies also catered to participants such as PESO with 110 which was supervised by Ms Carla Cruz; DOLE with 500 participants supervised by Mr. Rey D Sanglay; Ms Patrice Mae C Sagdullas supervised 83 participants, from the PNP, Pat Hector Cariaga supervise 130 participants while Ms Jell Guzman from PIA and Mr. Manuelito Namuco, DSWD(Local) assisted during the activity.

PMGEN Danao said that the Malasakit Livelihood Center with combined funds from concerned government agencies will serve as training center. “Aside from what we have now, there will be additional training. This training center will also serve as nucleus for livelihood projects. Sustainable livelihood projects, iyan ang gusto namin para magkaroon sila ng kahit konting sariling pangkabuhayan.”

RD Danao stated, “Ang tagumpay ng proyektong ito ay lalago sa inyong mga miyembro, sa pamamagitan ng Simula ng Isang Bagong Oportunidad sa Lipunan.” ###
