NCRPO: SUSPECTS FOR KIDNAPPING ARRESTED IN MANILA

NCRPO: A suspect for Serious Illegal Detention (Kidnapping), Usurpation of Authority, and illegal possession of dangerous drugs defined under Section 11 Art. Il of R.A. 9165 was arrested at about 9:00 a.m. of November 5, 2021 at Trece De Agosto Bridge, Brgy. 679, Paco, Manila.

The suspect was identified as WILFREDO MINDANAO y REJANO, male, 42 years old, married, bonafide member of the Philippine National Police (Patrolman) presently assigned at PSPG COMELEC INTRAMUROS, and ROMEO ADAY y DIÑO, male, 47 years old.

According to the initial report submitted by the MPD that reached NCRPO on the day of the arrest, at about 8:00am of November 5,2021, a complainant appeared before the Paz Police Community Precinct to report an alleged kidnapping incident wherein she was demanded to pay Php 50,000.00 for the release of the victim. Police operatives coordinated with the Punong Barangay regarding the conduct of a hot-pursuit operation for possible rescue of the kidnapped victim and apprehension of the suspects.

Upon arrival at the scene, the responding officers actually saw the suspects guarding the uncomfortable victim. The suspects were thereafter arrested and during the conduct of the body search, they recovered one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The seized pieces of evidence / items were as follows:

a. one (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu marked as HTP 11-5-2021 with signature of seizing officer;
b. one (1) unit of VIVO Y25 cellular phone color black;
c. one (1) unit of VIVO Y15 cellular phone color black, and
d. one (1) unit of SAMSUNG J7 PRO cellular phone color black.

The seized drug evidence has an estimated weight of more or less 1.00
gram of and has a standard DDB value of Php 6,800.00. It was taken to the crime laboratory for confirmatory testing while the suspects were brought to the police station pending the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Section 11 Art. Il of R.A. 9165 and other applicable laws.

NCRPO Chief PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR commended the immediate police response rendered by the elements of Manila Police District Police Station-5 which led to the arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victim.

Nakarating din po sa aking kaalaman na isa sa mga suspects ay kabilang sa ating hanay. Makaka asa po kayo na sa ngalan ng ating intensified internal cleansing effort, ay magkakaroon tayo po dito ng patas at masinsinang imbestigasyon. At kung sakali ngang lalabas na may paglabag, mamadaliin po natin ang paglalatag ng mga kaukulang kaso upang sa lalong madaling panahon ay maalis natin sa serbisyo ang mga kabaro nating tiwali at iskalawag na sumisira sa ating hanay. ang inyong PNP ay hindi tinotolerate ang mga maling gawain. ang inyong PNP ay siyang dapat na nagserserbisyo ng TAMA: TApat, may tapang at MAlasakit para sa mamamayan.” Wika ni PMGEN DANAO JR ###
