NCRPO Regional Director, VICENTE D DANAO JR lauds the successful anti-illegal drugs operation of Caloocan City Police Station under PCOL SAMUEL V MINA, Chief of Police which resulted in the seizure of PhP 17.5 million worth of shabu at about 5:10 PM yesterday, May 5, 2021 at B53 L3 Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City.
The buy bust operation stemmed from an information from a confidential informant regarding the illegal activities of the suspects.
After a week-long surveillance, monitoring and intelligence gathering was initiated until a buy-bust operation was plotted by the operatives of OCOP- DEU, CCPS together with elements of PDEA North District Office, 6th MFC RMFB-NCRPO and Tala Police Sub-Station, CCPS.
The arrested suspects were identified as:
- Josephine M Rada, 59 y/o, married, jobless and a resident of Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City;
- Mae Jane M Rada, 23 y/o, single, online seller and a resident of Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City;
- Bon Joni A Visda, 25 y/o, single, jJobless and a resident ofPhase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City.
According to the initial report, suspects were arrested after conspiring to sell one (1) pc. of medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for one genuine one-thousand-peso bill (Php. 1,000.00) bundled with seventy-four (74) pieces of one thousand fake/boodle currency used as buy-bust money.
Recovered from them are the following pieces of evidence:
Two (2) pcs. of medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, one of which is the subject of sale;
Five (5) pcs. knot tied transparent plastic bag containing suspected shabu;
Two (2) pcs. large vacuum sealed transparent plastic bag containing suspected shabu placed inside two (2) pcs. of foil packaging with brand markings GUANYINWANG Refined Chinese Tea, and the buy-bust money.
The seized items were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Brgy. 188 Kagawad Marcelo Gorgonio and Media representative Ismael G Santos of CAMANAVA Press.
The confiscated illegal drugs has an aggregate estimated weight of more or less 2,575 grams with DDB standard value of Php. 17.510 Million. It has been turned over to the crime laboratory for confirmatory testing.
Arrested suspects were detained at Police Station while charges for violation of Art II RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being readied against them.
