NCRPO Partakes in the Simultaneous Launching of BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank Project of the PNP

Following the surge of COVID-19 pandemic causing vast effect in the economy, major cities in Metro Manila suffered from insufficiency not just from food items but from other primary needs as well.

Towards this end, NCRPO, under the leadership of PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR took part in the simultaneous launching of the PNP-wide BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank project this 14th day of May, 2021 in front of NHQ Building, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City presided by no less than the PNP Chief himself, PGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR.

NCRPO’s version of the BARANGAYanihan project was launched in the Multi-purpose Hall, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City on May 14, 2021 themed as Team NCRPO Serbisyong TAMA “BARANGAYanihan” Help & Food Bank. This endeavor aims to have readily available food supplies for distribution anytime in cases of emergencies.

94 Partners/Sponsors heed the call and donated around 40,797 pieces of goods 21,721 of which were food items valued around Php 5,417,211.28, 6,930 pieces of non-food items valued around Php 31,400.00 and 12,146 pieces of health kit items worth around Php 872,912.00 with a grand total of around Php 6,324,023.28 for all the donations received.

NCRPO Chief PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR appreciated the continuing support of stakeholders which led to the success of its projects and initiatives all geared to deliver Serbisyong TAMA: TApat may tapang at MAlasakit sa mamamayan.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako na marami pong tumugon voluntarily kahit hindi po namin kayo kilala. Nakakataba po ng puso. Kami po ay pawang instrumento lamang sa paghahatid ng tulong sa ating mga kababayan lalong lalo na po ngayong panahon ng pandemya. Rest assured po na ang inyong kapulisan ay magbibigay ng serbisyong tama 24/7 sa atin pong mga kababayan.” Said PMGEN DANAO JR.

As a result, there are about 17,698 beneficiaries that benefitted from the program; 10,170 foodpacks and 6,835 health kits distributed; aside from the cash assistance of Php 7,500.00 given to the people.

Relatedly, benefiting from the activity during the Ceremonial Gift Giving and showcasing of items donated were selected beneficiaries from urban poor, TODA members of Taguig, Muslim Families of Taguig, Riles Residents of Taguig and Ybannag Families of Pateros Communities. ###
