NCRPO : JOINT OPERATIONS YIELD 1.2 BILLION WORTH OF SHABU IN BACOOR CAVITE

Persistent anti-illegal drug efforts of law enforcement agencies such as the National Capital Region Police Office under the helm of Police Major General Vicente D Danao Jr, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A, PDEA-Intelligence and Investigation Service, PNP PRO4A, Armed Forces of the Philippines- Task Force NOAH, Bureau of Customs and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency resulted in a successful conduct of a buy bust operation on September 9, 2021 at about 9:27 pm in Bacoor, Cavite.

PDEA Calabarzon Director Juvenal Azurin affirmed that the joint operation is related to anti-drug operations in Zambales wherein 4 alleged Chinese drug dealers died in an armed encounter.

Suspects identified as Danilo Untavar, 51; and Basher Bangon, 59 were killed during the operation. They are tagged as the “bodegeros” of Chinese Drug Trafficking Group wherein they used the area as a warehouse (bodega) of the illegal drugs.

The investigation disclosed that inter-agency operatives were able to halt the transport of Chinese-labelled packs which are about to be distributed to the Southern part of the country.

A total of 181 kilos of shabu worth of 1.2 billion pesos were seized from the suspects along with 2 pistols,

Meanwhile, another operation simultaneously transpired at Barangay Magdalo, Imus, Cavite wherein 48 kilos of shabu was confiscated.

PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR said the illegal drugs could be used by other groups to finance their activities related to the 2022 elections. He further commended the operating units for the successful decrease of shabu supply in the country. “We would like to congratulate all operatives, the PDEA, Task Force NOAH of the AFP, Bureau of Customs, Region 4A, NCRPO and all other units involved in this successful operation,” he said.

He also gave a warning to those who are engaged in anti-illegal drugs. “I would like to give stern warning to everyone especially itong mga drug pushers. Well sabi nga sa inyo, our government will never stop, we will never cease in our campaign against all forms of criminality lalong lalo na sa illegal drugs, terrorism and illegal possession of firearms. Hindi po tayo titigil nyan. This will  be a No Let Up campaign against all forms of illegal drugs. And if you will fight it out with our law enforcement agencies, isa lang ang pupuntahan ninyo,” he concluded.
