The National Capital Region Police Office joins the nationwide celebration of the 2020 National Human Rights Consciousness Week (NHRCW) and 72nd Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on December 07, 2020 at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.
Republic Act No. 9201 states that National Human Rights Consciousness Week is observed every December 4-10 in order to spread awareness of one’s basic human rights in relation to the functions and services offered by various government agencies.
Meanwhile, Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is an international document with 30 articles adopted by the United Nations General Assembly that elevates the rights and freedoms of all people regardless of nationality, gender, origin, colour, religion, language or social status.
PBGEN DANAO stressed that the PNP, especially the NCRPO, upholds the rights of the people in all their undertakings and promotes human rights based policing as foundation of justice and peace in Metro Manila.
“We are continuously gaining the trust and support of the public by serving them with utmost respect, fair and and honest response with no discrimination,” said PBGEN DANAO###
