Since the pandemic started police officers served as the frontline team to guard the public against further proliferation of the virus. Unfortunately, just like a normal individual they also got infected of the virus. Thus, this prompted the National Capital Region Police Office to implement different COVID-19 measures to ensure that the highest form of public service is still delivered to the people of Metro Manila.

Police officers who were deployed in the field were provided with protective gears and equipment. Offices followed 50/50 work scheme to lessen the transmission of the virus.

Currently, NCRPO has an on-going vaccination roll-out to all of the personnel. These vaccines will strengthen the immune system, thus, you are protecting yourself and helping to protect the whole community.

Based on the latest data, as of October 4, 2021 a total of 20, 693 personnel were fully vaccinated. That is 89.72% of the personnel in NCRPO. While 6.16% or 1, 420 already received their first dose and still in lined to be vaccinated on their second dose for the coming weeks. 4.12% or 951 personnel on the other hand are unvaccinated and still undergoing medical assessment. The medical-related personnel are assisting on the proper handling and administration of the vaccines to the recipients.

Further, NCRPO recorded 96.24% recoveries or 6,885 out of the 7,154 confirmed cases. As of today, October 4, there are a total of 248 active cases which are being attended by the Regional Medical and Dental Unit for their fast recovery.

As a result of the measures being conducted by NCRPO the manpower was not greatly affected and police officers are still performing their duties and responsibilities. In light to this, the 8-Focused Crimes have also shown 3.61% decrease comparing August 29 – September 15, 2021 and September 16- October 3, 2021.

PMGEN DANAO ordered to maximize and to maintain the consistent efforts and measures to curb the spread and prevent from being infected and/or of contracting the virus. He reminded to prioritize the health of Metro Cops in order to protect the community.
