Simbang Gabi or Misa De Gallo is a devotional nine-day series of masses practiced by Filipino Catholics in the anticipation of Christmas. It has been a long established tradition in the Philippines and today December 16, 2020 marked the first day of Simbang Gabi.
In conjunction with the celebration, the National Capital Region Police Office under the leadership of PBGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR alongside with the District Directors from five Police Districts and Commanders conducted church inspection and checked the deployed personnel in their area of responsibility to make sure that they are implementing and monitoring the minimum health protocol to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Moreover, in relation with “Ligtas Paskuhan 2020” police deployment was maximized to prevent the occurrence of any incidents during the celebration of the yuletide season. Even the Regional Headquarters personnel as well as District Headquarters personnel were deployed to add or beef up in police enforcement around Metropolis.
Furthermore, Simulation Exercises were also conducted to determine the operational readiness of police personnel in handling unexpected situation that may occur and police visibility will be intensified to deter crime and lawlessness.
PBGEN DANAO reminded the men and women of TEAM NCRPO to maximize their presence in the field to prevent crime and terrorism. To continue to collaborate and open their communication for better coordination.
“Hindi man tayo makapagdiwang ng kapaskuhan gaya ng ating nakasanayan sana ay hindi tayo makalimot sa tunay na dahilan ng selebrasyong ito, ang pagmamahalan at pagbibigayan. Sa kabila ng lahat ng pinagdaanan natin ngayong taong ito huwag nating kakalimutang magpasalamat pa din sa Diyos sa lahat ng biyayang ibinigay Niya sa atin,” he added.###
