“You can be discharged from the service, if a case would be dismissed just because you bungled the evidences, definitely you will be dismissed and you will be criminally liable for Sec 91 RA 9165.”  A warning stated by PBGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR., Acting Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office during the Simultaneous Opening Ceremony of the Criminal Investigation Course on January 18, 2021 at the NCRPO Hinirang Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan Taguig City.

The thirty five (35) day Criminal Investigation Course (CIC) is composed of five (5) classes which will be participated by sixty (60) policemen from the different police districts of the NCRPO. The CIC is regularly conducted under the supervision of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) that aims to enhance the investigative capability and excellence of policemen on the field of investigation. Likewise, the course provides investigators with comprehensive, high-quality instruction in investigative fundamentals, techniques and current detection trends. This is also an opportunity for investigators to cultivate the analytical, intuitive and investigative skills, building a strong foundation of academic and practical information of investigators.

PBGEN DANAO cited incidents for the investigators to learn from as well as inspired them to internalize by heart and by mind the job of an investigator. “Itong ating PNP, ang buong buhay ng pagpupulis natin ay nasa mga kamay ninyo, ang buong  buhay ng kaso ay nasa mga imbestigador. We can always strengthen the case, we can always make an airtight one or we can always dismiss the case deliberately done.”

He also warned the participants not to take the course for granted, instead use it properly for the benefit of the community. “Gamitin ninyo ng maayos ang inyong matututunan para sa ating mga kababayan. Lagi ninyong isa-isip na dapat ang isang pulis ay laging tapat, may tapang at malasakit sa taong bayan.” He ended. ###
