In line with the relentless campaign of Team NCRPO against illegal drugs, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director National Capital Region Police Office lauds the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Marikina City Police Station for the Arrest of two (2) drug peddlers in a buy-bust operation conducted on September 28, 2020 at about 2:30PM at Block 27 Ampalaya St., Brgy Tumana, Marikina City.
The operation was plotted after validation of the information received from confidential informants regarding the involvement of the suspects in illegal drug activities within the area. Consequently, in coordination with the agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), a buy-bust operation ensued. An undercover operative posed as poseur buyer and was able to purchase suspected marijuana contained in a transparent zip lock plastic. Upon completion of the transaction, the operative signalled for the arrest of the suspects.
Arrested suspects were identified as Kim Lauren San Pedro y Buenaventura also known as “Kim”, 23 years old, single, jobless, and Nikko Esdicul y Buenaventura also known as “Niko”, 22 years old, single, student. Both are residents of Block 27 Ampalaya St., Brgy Tumana, Marikina City.
Confiscated pieces of evidence from the suspects were:
a) Eighteen (18) pieces of transparent ziplock plastic containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops;
b) One (1) piece white transparent plastic bag;
c) One (1) piece pink pouch; and
d) One (1) piece One Thousand peso bill with serial no. NY495934 used as buy bust money (recovered).
The confiscated items were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of mandatory witnesses, Barangay Chairman Ziftted Ancheta of Barangay Tumana, Marikina City and Ms Margie Bautista, a media representative from Remate.
The seized illegal drugs suspected to be marijuana has an aggregate estimated weight of more or less 110 grams with Dangerous Drugs Board value amounting to PHP 13,200.00. It was turned-over to Eastern Police District Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while the suspects are currently detained at the custodial facility of Marikina City Police Station for investigation and documentation.
Cases of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Art II Sec. 5 (Selling) and Sec 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) will be filed before the Marikina City Prosecutors Office.
