DUTERTE LEGACY : BARANGAYANIHAN CARAVAN TOWARDS NATIONAL RECOVERY SIMULTANEOUSLY LAUNCHED IN THE COUNTRY

The inter-agency launching of Duterte Legacy: BARANGAYanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery on September 30, 2021 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Palanyag Gymnasium, Barangay San Dionisio Paranaque City was conducted successfully.

The historic event aims to bring the services of the government to the members of the community and at the same time to give emphasis on the government’s programs, policies, accomplishments and efforts that have brought real change to the lives of the Filipino people.

In Metro Manila, USEC JONATHAN MALAYA, DILG Undersecretary for Plans, Public Affairs and Communications, graced the occasion in person, representing the SILG.

Local officials of Parañaque were also present headed by 1st District Representative, Hon. Eric Olivarez and City Mayor Hon Edwin L. Olivarez and Ms Guada Golez (Rep. of VM, Parañaque LGU)

Also present were Regional Director of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Mr. Florencio Sunico Jr; Regional Director of Department of Labor and Employment, Atty. Sarah Buena Mirasol ; Mr Edwin Morata, Officer III of Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Ms Jennifer Pia Sibug-Ias the Commissioner of National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. Other agencies that also joined the occasion were PIA, Ms. Jana Patricia Reyes, Officer II of Department of Public Works and Highway, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Public Employment Service Office , Radio Television Malacañan , Department of the Interior and Local Government -NCR and Ms. Jesusa Rocel Estanislao of Presidential Communications Operations Office.

The activity kicked off with a motorcade prior to the program proper in compliance with the AITF guidelines. A total of 15 motor vehicles and 37 motorcycles participated in the said motorcade. Presentation of the legacies and beneficiaries of TESDA and DOLE transpired followed by the testimony of the recipients.

Mayor Edwin L Olivarez warmly welcomed the participants of the event. He expressed how thankful he was for the current administration in support to the endeavors of the city. “Mula’t sapul po sa kanyang paninilbihan, sa tulong ng lokal na gobyerno all over the country, ang gusto po niya, hindi po tao ang lalapit sa gobyerno, bagkus ang gusto po niya gobyerno ang lalapit sa taumbayan,” he said. According to him, residents of Paranaque can feel the compassionate of the administration through different agencies.

Among the services offered during the event were: issuance of police clearance for 3 persons and answering a total of 10 queries from the community; Health check-ups for 1,218 beneficiaries by the PNP RDMU; there were also 35 inquries which were given clarification on PhilHealth matters; 87 tesda related questions were answered along with 15 PNP recruitment queries. Then, there were 300 PNP IECs and 1,187 unified IECs were distributed for the people.

The Nego Cart Package was able to help 18 beneficiaries amounting to Php540 000.00 and the Bikecination benefitted 56 people amounting to Php1,120,000.00. TUPAD beneficiaries reached to 300 with a 14 day working wage of Php2,255,400.00 while NCRPO provided 300 foodpacks and 300 Mobile Kusina Tele-Eskwela Bayanihan hot meals for the participants.

Over all a total of 1, 124 beneficiaries felt the service of the government on this day.

On the other hand, Sec Martin Andanar of PCOO in his speech defined the goal of the activity as the “remembrance and celebration of “goals we have accomplished, the visions we have realized, the promises we have attained and the lives we have changed together”. He further gave emphasis on the accomplishments of the government under President Duterte’s administration which includes the DuterteNomics, 10-Point Socio economic Agenda, Build! Build! Build! Program, Kalinga at Malasakit for OFWs, Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign and Anti- Insurgency and Counter terrorism Campaign. Such programs paved way for the attainment of peace, security, stability, economic prosperity, infrastracture development, and effective social services.

According to Secretary Andanar, amidst covid 19, the country was able to sustain the gross domestic product and the growth of economy to 6%. Social Services such as universal health care, free tuition for higher education, institutionalization of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Alternative Learning System, Malasakit Centers and other one stop service centers have contributed to over all welfare.

Futhermore, more or less 62 billion pesos worth of illegal drugs was confiscated by the government, 22,585 barangays were declared drug free, 303 thousand arrested and 3800 youth were rescued during the campaign.

And through National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program, 17,000 former rebels returned to the government and returned to their normal lives.

Other programs were also discussed which led to several achievements and reached out to various people from the different walks of life.

“As we are in our tail-end of our governance, may we continue to support us in the Duterte administration in fulfilling our promises of bringing the government to the Filipino people and providing a comfortable life for all,’ he said.

Meanwhile, SEC MARK VILLAR, DPWH also inspired the participants in his speech through the presentation of the department which gives hope and strength to Filipino. “I am proud to say that these accomplishments will transcend generation of Filipino beneficiaries. Indeed, a Duterte legacy worth of emulating by the next administration,” he stated. USEC MALAYA of DILG also gave his speech where he thanked all the agencies of the government for their support to the programs of the government. He explained that the Barangayanihan will roll to the barangays of Paranaque and soon, within the other cities of Metro Manila.

Among the many accomplishments of the government, Secretary Andaya discussed the National ID- an identification card which serves as single proof of identity set to centralize everything, it simplifies life: making registering, applying and reapplying at countless public and private establishments easier and more seamless.

He further discussed the benefits of Skyway Stage 3 which gives Filipino people lesser travel time and the zero tuition fee to all state universities and colleges that helps students to achieve their dreams.

“Kaya po nating makipagdebate kahit kanino. Kahit pagsamasamahin natin
iyong accomplishments ng naunang administrasyon at iba pang mga naunang administrasyon, napakarami pong nagawa ng Duterte administration at hindi po yan mawawala, at hindi kayang burahin ng kahit anong paninira sa ating pamahalaan. Alam po natin yan at ipaglalaban natin ang Duterte Legacy.

PMGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR in his message delivered by PBGEN JIMILI MACARAEG, DD, extended their gratitude to the Filipino people for their trust and confidence not only to the police but to the government as a whole.

“Sa pamamagitan ng Launching of Duterte Legacy: BARANGAYanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery nais natin na maramdaman ng ating mga kababayan na kailanman ay hindi sila nalimutan ng gobyerno. Inilalapit natin ang mga ahensya sa taumbayan upang maging abot-kamay ang mga tulong mula sa pamahalaan,” he said.###
