Drug Sting Yields More than 700K of Illegal Drugs in Quezon City

Corresponding to Team NCRPO’s relentless anti-illegal drug campaign, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS commends the coordination of Kamuning Police Station (PS-10), Masambong Police Station (PS-2)- Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) that led to the arrest of a Drug Personality during a Drug Sting.

The operation followed after validation of information gathered from a regular confidential informant regarding the involvement of the suspect in illegal drug activities in the area. Upon validation of the information through almost a week of surveillance and monitoring, an operation was plotted.

Subsequently, in coordination with the agents of PDEA NCR and Masambong Police Station, a joint buy-bust operation ensued together with the operatives of PS-10, QCPD Station Drug Enforcement Unit wherein one of the police officers acted as poseur buyer.

Upon arrival at No. 89 Roosevelt Ave., Brgy. Sta Cruz, Quezon City at around 4:00PM on October 13, 2020 the duo was able to meet JR. The undercover operative was able to buy PHP12,000. worth of shabu from the suspect, and at the given pre-arranged signal, the suspect was arrested.

The arrested drug personality was identified as Marvin Bernal y Bolus, also known as JR, 30 years old, single, jobless, native of Manila and resident of No. 89 Roosevelt Ave., Brgy. Sta Cruz, Quezon City.

Recovered evidence under the possession and control of the suspect were:

  1. One (1) piece of medium size heat sealed plastic transparent sachet containing undetermined amount of suspected shabu;
  2. One (1) piece of medium size heat sealed plastic transparent sachet containing undetermined amount of suspected shabu;

3.Buy-bust item amounting to Twelve Thousand Pesos One (1) piece of Five Hundred Pesos incorporated with eleven (11) pieces of One Thousand Peso Bill as boodle money); and,

  1. One (1) unit of digital weighing scale;
  2. One (1) unit of Android Cellphone; and
  3. One (1) piece of small black pouch.

The confiscated items were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of mandatory witnesses, Barangay Captain Jomar Baetiong of Barangay Sta Cruz, Quezon City and Mr Alex Mendoza of the QCPD Press Corps.

The seized illegal drug suspected to be shabu has an aggregate estimated weight of more or less 105 grams with DDB value amounting to PHP714, 000.00. It was turned over to the QCPD Crime Laboratory Office for confirmatory testing while the suspect is currently detained at PS-10, Kamuning Police Station, QCPD pending the filing of appropriate charges.
