The National Capital Region Acting Director PBGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR announced the neutralization of two illegal firearms dealer- suspects in an armed encounter between the elements of  the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group led by PCOL EDWARD CATIYUG, DID,QCPD under PCOL JOEL VILLANUEVA ,DSOU QCPD under PMAJ SANDIE CAPARROSO and Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station  (PS 13) under PMAJ ROLDANTE SARMIENTO along Eagle Ext., Area 2, Sitio Veterans, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, QC at on December 5, 2020 at about 11:50 PM based on the report submitted by  PBGEN DANILO  MACERIN, District Director, QCPD to ARD, NCRPO.

Accordingly, the buy bust operation was conducted against a certain Johnny Radaza, a known member of the “Waray-waray kidnap for ransom group” who came along with his companion and is allegedly responsible for the series of kidnapping cases happening in the area of NCR and subjected for intelligence and surveillance for almost 6 months by the personnel of PNP-AKG.

Consequently, one of the police officers acted as a poseur buyer and approached the suspects. A pre-arranged signal was given after the consumation of the offense.

The back-up operatives tried to arrest the suspects, however, they fired towards the operatives leaving the latter without a choice but to defend themselves and shot it out with the suspects.

In the aftermath of the armed encounter, the suspects were identified and describes as follows:

1. Johnny Radaza, of legal age,  a member of “waray-waray kidnap for ransom group” and a resident of Brgy 73, Zone 10, Pasay City and

2. One (1) unidentified male suspect,  between 30-40  years old, wearing brown short pants, gray t- shirt, black jacket with hood and with a “rabbit head image” tattoo on his left breast.

Recovered from them are the following pieces of evidence : from suspect Radaza caliber .45 colt pistol with serial number 481735 loaded with five (5) ammunition, caliber 9mm pistol with serial number 1409574 loaded with six (6) ammunition, a brown envelope containing Php20,000.00 six (6) sachets of shabu, a color red Rusi motorcycle without plate number, and seven (7) fired cartridge cases of unknown firearm while recovered from the unidentified suspect were a green belt bag containing a caliber .45 Taurus with serial number 813947, caliber .45 colt pistol with serial number 352214, four (4) sachets of shabu and three (3) fired cartridge cases of unknown firearm.

The buy bust operation was conducted in line with the intensified campaign of NCRPO against all forms of criminality and illegal drugs.

“I commend the elements of QCPD for the successful conduct of a buy-bust operation against these members of the “Waray-waray kidnap for ransom group”. I however plea for these people not to try to elude arrest and endanger the lives of our police officers to avoid such deadly encounters. Might as well cease your illegal activities and henceforth live as productive members of our community. The PNP is unrelenting in the kidnapping drive, it is only a matter of time before you are made to answer for your crime” Said PBGEN DANAO.
