NCRPO – Following the Omnibus Election Code stating that the campaign period shall not include the day before and the day of the election, yesterday, May 7, 2022, prominent candidates of national and local positions held their last political campaign rallies within Metro Manila. Among the numerous simultaneous political campaigns within the metropolis, three major rallies were held in Parañaque, Makati and Manila by prominent presidentiables who took advantage of the remaining hours of the campaign period.
In relation to this, Police Major General Felipe R Natividad, Regional Director, NCRPO announced that there was no major untoward incident recorded and the Team NCRPO has provided a successful security coverage on the said events.
Police officers were deployed early in their areas of responsibility to maintain peace and order before and after the campaign rallies and to ensure that minimum public health protocol is strictly observed.
In a message of PMGEN Natividad he said, “Let us continue to maximize police presence and give our undivided attention and dedication to guarantee a safe, accurate and fair election.”
He added, “Let us intensify all our efforts to secure the Metro from all forms of criminalities, illegal drugs, terrorism, and other unlawful incidents related to the forthcoming national and local elections.”
