National Capital Region Police Office under the leadership of PBGEN VICENTE D DANAO JR together with the PBGEN ALEX B SINTIN, Director, National Police Training Institute share same vision of enhancing one’s capability to subdue resisting criminals through non-lethal weapon, thus, a Baton/Yantok/Night Sticks training was held on December 9 ,2020 at National Capital Region Training Center.
Said training was attended by 316 NCRTC trainees in preparation for their field work as soon as they graduated from the training.
This initiative aims to serve as their initial defense prior to the issuance of firearms for the new breed of patrolman. Similarly, part and parcel of basic recruit course is the proper use of arnis which promote least amount of danger, risk or injury for both the police and suspects.
Meanwhile, Chief of the Philippine National Police, PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS also ordered policemen to use baton / yantok in implementing physical distancing in areas of convergence especially during the holiday season.
“Ang NCRPO ay patuloy na susunod sa anumang direktiba mula sa ating presidente at sa hepe ng Pambansang Kapulisan. Ang pagsasanay ng yantok/ baton ay napapanahon sa pagpapatupad ng batas at pagliligtas sa ating mga kababayan laban sa Covid-19.” PBGEN DANAO said.
