In preparation for the possible landfall of typhoons “Gardo” and “Hinnamnor” the National Capital Region Police under the strong leadership of PBGEN JONNEL C ESTOMO, Acting Regional Director through PBGEN JACK L WANKY, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, directed all unit commanders for the Activation of Standby Status of Response Clusters and get rescue equipment ready.

PBGEN Wanky also directed concerned units to ensure the 100% attendance of Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) in their respective offices, ready to be deployed anytime and upon orders. As well as to ready their mobility power supply, digital mobile radios (DMR) and tactical radios and SAR equipment in coordination with respective Local Government Units and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices. PBGEN Wanky, on orders of PBGEN Estomo, also directed the Chief, RTOC to ensure the availability and operability of telecommunication equipment to provide latest update on the monitored typhoons.

Moreover, the Regional Headquarters will deploy 291 personnel composed of ten (10) Supervisors, Team Leaders with 11 Police Commissioned Officers, 11 Police Non-Commissioned Officers and 219 members. Meanwhile, the Five Police District Offices of NCRPO also gear up, ready to deploy their personnel and assets respectively.

Likewise, the personnel of Regional Mobile Force Battalion who have undergone the Search and Rescue (SAR) and Water Search and Rescue Training were put on standby alert to augment SAR Teams region wide.

PBGEN Wanky, said that “We will maximize the capability of our personnel here in the Regional Headquarters down to the police stations of the Five Police Districts of Team NCRPO to ensure the safety of the people on the surge of the said typhoon.

“Sa gitna ng banta ng bagyo, hinihikayat ko ang ating mga kapulisan na maghanda at makipag-ugnayan sa lokal na gobyerno na kanilang nasasakupan para sa agarang pagresponde sa ating kababayan kung kinakailangan,” said RD Estomo.

On the same day (August 31, 2022) the NCRPO through the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division, along with other Police Regional Offices nationwide, joined the virtual Showdown Inspection of SRR Personnel and Disaster Equipment personally conducted by PGEN RODOLFO AZURIN JR, Chief,PNP at the NCRPO Grandstand, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The activity aimed to ensure the disaster preparedness and operational capability and readiness of the PNP in responding to any calamity that may occur.

In his message PGEN AZURIN reminded all PNP personnel of their readiness to respond including keeping their Families in a secured situation so that they will be effective in carrying out their mission.
