PBGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Acting Regional Director, NCRPO with the other members of the Command Group, Regioanl Staff and personnel of Regional headquarters NCRPO attended the New Year’s Eve Mass officiated by Rev Fr Ronila A Datu at St Joseph’s Parish, Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) marked a safe and sound Black Nazarene Thanksgiving Procession which started at about 11:45PM of December 30 and ended at about 1:30AM of December 31, as “airtight security” has been employed.
NCRPO Acting Director, PBGEN DEBOLD SINAS said that approximately 10,000 police officers of NCRPO together with JTF NCR, BFP, BJMP, Coastguard, Task Force Quiapo and other force multipliers were fielded to maintain peace and order throughout the thanksgiving and secure places of convergence and vital installations nearby Quiapo Church as well as the route of the procession.
NCRPO Chief detailed that the cops who were deployed for the Black Nazarene Thanksgiving Procession adhered to the new security scheme.
He further explicated that the enhanced approach with the active participation of Quiapo Church headed by Monsignior Hernando Coronel, Hijos and other Catholic ministries addressed the dilemma of overcrowding in the procession route which shortened the duration of the procession and the totality of the said religious activity from 10 hours and 22 minutes last December 2018 to 1 hour and 45 minutes this year with crowd estimate of 70,000-80,000.
Meanwhile, the man at the helm of NCRPO underscored: “Taking into account that the enhanced security approach for the thanksgiving procession has been effective, same security blueprint might be implemented for the “Traslacion” of the Black Nazarene from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church in Manila on January 9.”###
