Random Drug Test In QC: One Non-Uniformed Personnel, Found Positive

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, the Regional Director of NCRPO ordered for the reassignment of one non-uniformed personnel after she was found positive to the use of illegal drugs.

Initial investigation disclosed that on June 20, 2020, a surprise drug test was conducted among the 87 NCRPO personnel who attended the Seminar on the Disposition/Status of Admin Cases in Quezon City Police District, Camp Karingal, Quezon City.

During the initial screening test, almost everyone yielded negative results except for the urine specimen submitted by NUP Olivia Cordero which yielded positive result for the presence of Methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as shabu.

Consequently, the same urine sample was subjected for confirmatory testing using GCMS at NHQ-Crime Laboratory, Camp Crame, Quezon City which then confirmed  the findings of the positive presence of illegal substance known as shabu.

Thereafter, a background investigation was conducted by the Regional Intelligence Division- NCRPO further revealed that subject NUP faced previous cases associated with illegal drugs.

The NUP was relieved from QCPD and is now reporting in RPHAS NCRPO.  Another case for Grave Misconduct in relation to the positive result of the Random Drug Test will be filed against her.

“Our internal cleansing is a continuing effort. We will not cease until our rank is cleansed of skalawags and erring members who taint the good image of the organization whether uniformed personnel or otherwise,” said PMGEN SINAS.
