Peacebuilding and Counter- Radicalization Forum with the Muslim Community in Las PiÑas City

This Police Office through the Office of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (ORCADD) in coordination with the District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD), Southern Police District (SPD) and Las Piñas City Police Station conducted Peacebuilding and Counter-Radicalization Forum with the Muslim Community held on April 11, 2019 (Thursday) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Covered Court of Barangay Talon Singko, Moonwalk, Las Piñas City.
The activity was graced by Hon. Josefina B. Bumanlag, Brgy. Chairwoman, Brgy. Talon Singko, Las Piñas City and was attended by PMAJ GILBERT VALERA, Chief, SOPS, Las Pinas CPS together with PMAJ BOBBE IMBO, Chief, Intel, Las Pinas CPS; PCPT ERNIE B ORTEGA, PCP 5 Commander, Las Piñas CPS; PLT EDMUNDO M BENITEZ, Supervisor, PPS, RCADD; and representative from Salaam Police personnel of RCADD, NCRPO, DCADD, SPD, and SCADD, Las Piñas CPS. More or less one hundred (100) participants composed of Muslim leaders, Imams, Barangay Officials, and members of the Community Force for Common Good, Incorporated (CFCGI), Islamic Kapayaan Traders Incorporated and Salaam Police Volunteers of Las Pinas City.
The activity started with a prayer rendered by Imam Aliodin Ampaso followed by the welcome remarks of Hon. Bumanlag wherein she expressed her appreciation in organizing this forum and her commitment to building and sustaining peace in their barangay.
PMAJ VALERA discussed the situation updates and brief presentation of peace and order within their area of responsibility while PMAJ IMBO lectured about Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness and Modus Operandi of Criminal Groups/Gangs to the participants.
During the open forum and in response to queries, questions, suggestions, clarifications, problems and other concerns were raised by the participants in the area particularly on drug problems and frequently conduct of cultural dialogues and peace advocate forums between the PNP and the Muslim Communities.
A total of one hundred fifty (150) flyers on Crime Prevention, Anti-Rape, Anti- Illegal Drugs, 2019 Midterm Elections and Anti-Bomb Threat containing ISMOT Hotline numbers of the NCRPO and Pulis Serbis Balita gazettes were distributed during the activity.
The activity concluded by distribution of certificates of appreciation to the lecturer and certificates of participation to all the participants.
