QCPD nabs 8 armed men, seizes guns;
apprehends 6 drug suspects
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar reported to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief, PDir Oscar D Albayalde, the arrest of 8 personalities for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and also 6 suspects for illegal drugs by different QCPD police stations in Quezon City.
Galas Police Station (PS-11) operatives under PSupt Christian Dela Cruz, nabbed 8 armed men at about 4:00 p.m., April 29, 2017 at No. 10, Quezon Avenue, Brgy. Tatalon, QC. The suspects were Hernane Esperas, 38 y/o, of Cainta Rizal, Elmer Magdaraog, 45 y/o, of Binangonan, Rizal, Rosendo De Vera, 44 y/o, of Binangonan, Rizal, Rocky Bautista, 51 y/o, of San Pablo City, Jovito Cervitillo, 50 y/o, of Binangonan, Rizal, Alfie Reyes, 35 y/o, of San Pablo City, Joel Habagat, 46 y/o of San Pablo City, and Danilo Buenaventura, 56 y/o, of Calamba, Laguna.
The report showed that the armed suspects suddenly barged inside the victim’s compound, and at gunpoint, the victims, Arnel Claridad, 40, Riza Hortalino, 40, Disiderio Balasabas, 54, Jose Ben Aguirre, 70, were dragged into a Toyota Hi-Ace van with plate number ABL-738, beaten up before they were hogtied using a cable wire. They drove away and roamed around the vicinity. A witness Evelyn Balasabas, saw the incident and sought the assistance of police officers patrolling the area resulting in the arrest of the suspects.
Confiscated from the suspects were one Bersa cal. 9mm pistol with two magazines, one Norinco cal .45 pistol with one magazine loaded with seven live ammunition, one Norinco cal .45 pistol with two magazine loaded with 17 ammunition and two Armscor 12 gauge shotguns loaded with four ammunition.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects were instructed by another person who claims ownership of the compound occupied by the victims, to forcibly evict the victims so that they can occupy it.
Police are establishing the identity of the person who ordered the suspects to barge into the compound and threatened the victims before they were forcibly dragged. Investigators are also verifying the information that there are other claimants of the compound.
La Loma Police Station (PS-1) personnel under PSupt Tomas Nuñez arrested at about 4:00 p.m., April 28, 2017, on Retiro St. near corner Hernane St., Brgy. N.S. Amoranto, Ma. Rochelle Navarro, 38, Archel Reyes, 33, both of Tondo Manila, after responding to a call that the suspects were disturbing the peace in a verbal tussle. When the officers tried to pacify them, the suspects resisted and shouted at the cops, forcing them to arrest the suspects. When frisked, two sachets of shabu were seized.
Fairview Police Station (PS-5) personnel under PSupt Alex Alberto arrested Reynaldo Maglipas, 43, of Upper Nawasa, QC, Fausto Caliso, 43, of SAMAPA, Fairview,Kenneth Claros, 18, of Brgy. Greater Fairview andWison Miana, 45, of SAMAPA Fairview who were caught in a shabu session during an Oplan Galugad. Confiscated were three sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Cases of Trespass to Dwelling, Grave Threats, Illegal Detention and Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition are being prepared against the armed suspects; while the drug suspects were charged with violation of R.A. 9165, (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
PCSupt Eleazar commended the operatives for the arrest of the suspects, their prompt response to calls for police assistance, and their continuous patrolling of their area of operations, which is even more heightened in the interim, in line with the security of the ASEAN meetings going on. Kahit po na concentrated ang security para sa ASEAN summit, sapat pa rin po ang ating mga personnel na magpapanatili ng kaayusan at kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan sa Quezon City. Muli po tayong nagpapaalala sa publiko na maging mapagmatiyag laban sa mga masasamang loob at i-report agad ang anumang insidente para sa agarang aksiyon,” PCSupt Eleazar added.
