The Pasay City Police successfully arrested three male suspects for illegal possession of false treasury note/ counterfeit foreign currency at about 7:55 pm of May 15, 2019 at the 3rd Floor of Genting Cage, Grand Wing Casino located at the Newport City, Brgy. 183, Villamor, Pasay City. Suspects were identified as Fernando Silanga y Blasurca, 44 years old, Filipino Citizen, male, single, and residing at Mandaluyong City; Tiange Wu, 31 years old, Chinese national, male, married, Casino Junket Operator and residing at Montecito Condominium, Newport City, Brgy. 183, Villamor, Pasay City; Song Ho Sang, 53 years old, Korean Citizen, male, married, jobless and residing at Santiago City, Isabela ( All Arrested); and James Park of legal age, Korean national (At Large). Operation stemmed from a telephone call from In-House Security of Resort World Manila (RWM) and sought for police assistance that there were male persons who allegedly attempted to transact and possessed a counterfeit foreign currency in Grand Wing of Resort World. Thereat operatives subjected the suspects for questioning and upon confirmation,immediately effected their arrest. Investigation disclosed that the fake money came from a korean suspect identified as James Park, who is now the subject of follow-up operation. Further, investigation revealed that one of the suspects identified as Fernando Silanga y Blasurca is a former member of the Philippine National Police Batch 2001. He was last assigned in Eastern Police District San Juan City. In 2009, he was charged with an adminitrative case, detained and released on bail on the same year. On April 4, 2011 he was ordered demotion from ranks and dismissed from police service on April 14, 2018 with the rank of Police Staff Seargent. During the operation, operatives were able to confiscate Two Hundred Eighty Eight Thousand Seven Hundred (288,700.00 US$) US Dollars. Suspects were brought to the Office of Pasay City Police Station, Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch for proper disposition and further investigation. Cases for violation of Article 168 of the Revised Penal Court (Illegal Possession and Use of False Treasury Bank Notes and other Instruments of Credit) and ESTAFA will be filed against the suspects. PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO ELEAZAR reminded the public about the use of fake money,"pinagbabawal sa atin ang pag gamit ng mga pekeng pera at tuloy tuloy naman ang mga ginagawa nating operation para sa pagkalap natin ng magandang impormasyon. Tayo ay nakipag ugnayan na rin, for this particular case, we have coordinated with the US authorities at kanilang embassy para matulungan din tayo". "Paalala sa ating mga kababayan na mag ingat din sa mga transaction involving foreign currency, infact hindi lang foreign currency pati na rin yung ating pera dahil maaaring magkaroon ito ng peke, kung mayroon kayong alinlangan, laging ipakita ito sa mga authority para malaman kung ito nga ay tunay o hindi", PMGEN ELEAZAR added.
